Re: What have you been working on lately?

The Wittner Perf is excellent. Dennis Toeppen from www.toeppenfilm.com did some very interesting tests. All his Double 8 stock was perforated at Wittners

Re: No news from Ferrania is not good.

For the UK the best source for Wittner film stock is http://www.gaugefilm.co.uk They will get you 16mm as well if you inquire for it. They receive shipments from Wittners on a regular basis and easily can include some 16mm rolls for you (or other products). Thanks Eric - will try there! ;) Good new...

Re: Wittner 54 Super 8 cartridge.

hi, the WITTNER B+W 54 Super 8 cartridges are notched 100D. No filter notch, no conversion filter in the camera should be enabled. I guess your D6 camera did misinterpret the notch as 160 asa -> yielding underexposure. Next time you may use the D10 only or set exposure on D6 camera manually (if poss...

Re: Regular 8 Vision 3 50D and 250D

@Cineandy
The Velvia 50 R8 Wittner did sell was (re)perforated by E. Nowill. Not Wittner.
Wittner's own all new R8 perforator did not went into service until 3/2014. This is the date when R8 200D became available (btw exactly 12 month after the Super 8 and 16mm version).

Re: How to deal with flat spots on sound tensioner tires?

Hi slashmaster, those "tires" are crap. I did use them once and had the same problems. Cheap solutions are in fact bad solutions very often. Get those precisely machined new rubber rollers from Wittners - and your projector will run sound movies like a charm. Wittner offers complete rolls - not chea...

Re: Ferrania is a go!

Sure. The RMS value gives you an idea on how grainy a film is. High value = more grain (and less resolving power) Low value = less grain (and more resolving power) RMS Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film_grain Example: Ektachrome 100G EI (exposure index): 100 ASA Grain: RMS 8 Resolving power: 12...
