Hello!
Yesterday I bought this projector and it works really fine. But, its my first projector, so I have one question:
In front of the lamp there is the gate, and it have a glass. Is it right? Well, right in the middle of the glass I see a vertical line, like if the glass is broken. Is it, or is it normal? In the projection I don't see anything strange, I just see this line and a lot of dust when I put a piece of paper right i front of the lens and focus.
One other question, is it possible to clean the glass in the other side of the lamp?
Greettings for everyone! Tiago

Thats the heat absorbing glass- its meant to be split like that I guess to allow it to expand without breaking any more? You're best advised not to touch it as like the bulbs, grease from fingers might cause it damage under the very high temperatures.
You should be able to pull the lens out and clean it though.
Nice projector!

Yup I have the same projector also and the glass is split (cracked) - I think it's due to the high heat over time.
I wouldn't worry about it - it is possible to remove the mounting which the glass is in, but its fiddly as the glass screen is held in place with folded metal tabs - and getting a replacement won't be worth the effort.
Just enjoy the projector!

Thank you both! I just want to know if it was normal or not. Even if it isn't, I don't worry about, because it doen's make any difference in the image qulaity. Ok, I will be carefull about don't touching the glass and the lamp. By the way, is it easy to find a lamp like this? Is a 8v, 50 w bulb. About cleaning the glass, I clean it in the bulb side, but on the other side, when I take off the lens, it have a metal gate in front of the glass. Can I remove it? Have nice shootings (and projections!!). Tiago
On the net they can be expensive to buy, but I find many projectors that take this bulb type and have been hoarding them for some time now... So, they may cost about $40-50 online, but a whole projector with working bulb can go for as low as $5 in a thrift store or flea market...tiagoncalves wrote:Thank you both! So far I've found 1 daulux 1000 for $10 a daulux 2000 in the box for $20 and just recently another 1000 for $60. the last one will hit ebay to pay for some film stocks, I already sold the first one and the 2000 is my keeper because of the 12 volt halogen bulb it uses...
