bolex camera broken?

bolex camera broken?

Hi. I went into a fleamarket and i saw a bolex camera, something like a bolex 550, but i couldent press the trigger in, it wasnt moving at all, is this a lock or something? and if it is broken you think it would be easy to get the trigger moving agian? :roll: :roll: :roll:

See if there is a little dial that probably says:
"L, L/R, R"

Move it to "R". If the trigger was locked on it should unlock.

Does anyone own a Bolex 550 (or better) and a Nizo/Beaulieu for comparison? I wanted to know how they compare, in terms of image quality.

I am sure the Beaulieu will win, if you are talking about the 4008, 5008s and not the Beaulieu that's made by Chinon. Why? It doesn't have a prism in it's light path and uses a mirror shutter for reflex viewing, so it has the edge in turns of sharpness and contrast......well, to me anyway you know it's so subjective.

i bought the camera and it was horrible inside, full of rust and white sand looking stuff, but i took of the importent parts and the rest went into trash.
