stop motion

Post by paul »

I'm going to do a simple stop motion for a friend with a toy car moving over a drawing. Any advice?? should I move the car every frame, two frames, three frames?? Any input is welcome.

Thanks

Hi Paul. It all depends on what look you are after. And what speed you will be projecting back. If you are projecting at 18fps, then for the smoothest motion you want to move the car 1/18 of the amount you want it to move in 1 second of projection. If you move it a little more, but only every few frames, the motion will be a bit more jerky.

Shooting on twos still looks alright even at 16fps.
