anamorphic lens bracket....

Post by richalezio »

hi

I'm wanting to mount an anamorphic lens in front of both my S8 & DVcams

does anybody know where to get (in UK) a lens breacket -

I've seen a picture of one on the internet : it looks like to metal arms with a circle mount at the top that can be adjusted

anybody know where to get one?

I have thought about this before - your best bet is to find a good engineer with a tig welder. Design the bracket and get him to make it ideally from alluminium.

The reason I say this is because I used to run an engineers merchant, and TIG is the most incredible process - provided the person knows what they are doing. One of my old customers restores historic racing cars and some of the little brackets etc he makes are superb - only thing is he is always busy with the cars, but there are other people around with the same skills. I would have though such a bracket would be easy.

I will recommend http://www.srbfilm.co.uk. They do a very good and high quality work. The only problem is some projects takes a very long time to complete if you go by their standard leadtime shipping - 5 months in one case. Not good.
