music video dvd uploaded
hey, the venedig sjunker mini album has been released by 1978 and the venedig sjunker promo is being sent out to tv stations, so here's the zipped dvd for those of you who have connections and want to help get some super 8 shown. any help appreciated, and if you're just interested in the dvd for yourself that's fine too of course.
the dvd is in pal format. broadcast copies available as digibeta in both pal and ntsc formats. check out my homepage for more info.

Would you be able to provide releases?
Mattias,
Would you be able to provide a copy of the
sync license, master recording license, and
talent releases. I would probably be able to
get it played three times on different cable
access channels in Portland. If you want I
can submit it to other additional channels
where I have connections.
Would you be able to do a short film or video
on how you did the shot?
I would probably want to ask some other people
if they have any work that they want to submit,
but I would just proceed to get it on the air
within a week to 2 weeks.

Re: music video dvd uploaded
matt,
seems to me that the DVD shows severe interlacing (most obvious on computer playback)...
was this shot at 18fps?

Hi Matt,
Thank you very much for the beautiful Pal music video DVD. I shall burn it onto a RW back-up disk and save it for my first Pal DVD burn. (I bought a Pal camera and can do more than ntsc now). It should look really fantastic on a widescreen pal TV
Every now and then there is the odd hair that pops up in the video. They can be removed, using Virtual Dub, by painting individual frames in the clip where they appear, but I guess you like them as it is part of that "Film Look". They don't bother me at all. The film is really lovely to watch, I did so twice in a row and will some more. Is that Sweedish? Definately not Borg. Will there be an English dub? Wadidi say :?: wadidi say?? :?: Hadiya, hadiya... nice sound anyway. Only film can get away with pans like that. miniDV? forget it! the artifacts will blow you away on a projected image on even a slow zoom. I really liked the shot of the bus or train pulling away with the hyped colors near the beginning. A little after the bird the left frame line jumps in towards the right; you applied some deshaker eh? That happens when I use deshaker on some clips. sowhat.
I wish I could do that, music videos, what you did. Lots of luck with it.
Michael

haha, that's hilarious.downix wrote:nevermind, got it working. (tripped over my speakers plug)
sure. i'll get back to you. would you/they require a beta copy or will a dvd do? in either case i assume we're talking about ntsc?Would you be able to provide a copy of the sync license, master recording license, and talent releases
close. it was shot 24 fps, transferred at 25 fps and the longer sync shots were stretched back to 24 fps in post, for which i used field rendering for smoothness making it interlaced. there shouldn't be any interlacing problems on an interlaced display like a tv.seems to me that the DVD shows severe interlacing (most obvious on computer playback)... was this shot at 18fps?
the entire vido was shot and posted to look like "old film", so i take that as a compliment. :-)Every now and then there is the odd hair that pops up in the video
it's cropped.Did you crop or used anamorphics?
sharp eye. on about five shots, yes. not to get rid of jitter, but to stabilize bad wheelchair dolly shots.you applied some deshaker eh?

Cool, but I can´t hear a thing.
I am playing it from my harddrive using WinDVD after unpacking it.
I´ll try to burn it and see if I get any sound then.

Ha, ha, Nope, those three letters are not the reason  WinDVD is actually a good player, I like it.
But i recently reinstalled my computer (well a few weeks ago, but I guess it can be called recently), maybe I haven´t installed the necessary codec for dolby digital?
I´ll have to do that sometime when I have time for it, the sound will probably play on a DVD player, I´ll burn it sometime tonight and get back.
Nice credits you have on the disc, by the way, thanks

The burned DVD played with sound, just as expected.
It really looks good on a TV, I like the video (and not just because of the good transfer someone did
). It looks.... cool.
I´m sure it is a codec issue on my computer, but I have no time to fix that now, too much work to do, I´m already wasting too much time reading stuff on this forum...

DVCAM, fcp quicktime, DVD
Mattias,
I can take a fcp quicktime, DVCAM, DVD preferably in NTSC,
but I can convert it to NTSC from PAL if it is a quicktime or a
DVD. I don't think that I can capture a DVCAM PAL.
I end up submitting it on a D9, so the fcp quicktime would be
the best since it doesn't involve snailmail.
