K40 exposures?

Post by sonickel »

Hello everyone
I've just got back a roll of K40, shot with a Chinon 30 AF XL (Auto exposure, autofocus).

Many of the shots look overexposed, especially the ones on the beach in sunlight. But even the cloudy scenes (in winter) were also a bit on the bright side.

What could be causing this?

Thanks

ya know, I had the same problem with my first two rolls of k40, shot on an Elmo Super 104. I shot 1 roll in twilight, the other in bright sunlight. Both were a bit overexposed. The one in bright sunlight was overly yellow too!

Any ideas?

The aperture blades could be sticking. This can occur if the camera was previously used in a hot / warm climate. Either that or the light meter may be stuffed. Or quite possibly, the backlighting or exposure compensation could be accidentally left on.
