Double-AA Battery Price Check

Are Duracells and Energizers considered the best Double AA batteries one can get?

I found Duracells 36 to a pack for 12.99, aka 33 cents each, what do you pay for your Energizers, Duracells, or other popular brands?

I buy the cheap 40 packs of alkalines for like 8.99...too lazy to figure out the per unit cost.

Sounds like the "Kirkland" brand to me found at Costco, (that's where I got the Duracells).

Yep, and I get the Sanyo's from Fry's...same deal. Heck, its not like I'm buying those old school 9-lives black cat batteries...I miss those (though I still see them, but they bring back a lot of pissed off memories of dead batteries!).

I finally broke down and bought NiMH rechargeable AAs for the Nizo and the Bauer. I think they both call for standard 1.5s and the NiMH give 1.2 instead. Many Nizo's seem to demand the 1.2s, but I have an 801 and the English manual says 1.5. FWIW...

So far both cameras seem to like them. Haven't burned through the first charge yet, that's a good sign I guess. It may not even be cost effective/beneficial in the long run, but I'll be happy not to be throwing away more batteries and packaging.

What I really want is something like they make for cell phones, a little sidewinder -- so I could replace my nizo battery box w/one with a crank and use it like a clockwork camera. Surely modern technology can still deliver us a mechanical device...

Here in the UK I go to 7dayshop.com and get 40 pack of Panasonic PowerMax3 for under Ã‚Â£8

Only Duracells seem to be better but they're considerably more expensive.

Duracell is the best by far. bulk buy a pack of 120 duracell m3 double a batteries and it will cost only Ã‚Â£30 - thats 25pence a battery. or in euros about 40 euros for 120 batteries or 33.3333333333 cents per battery. or in us dollars about 48 dollars for 120 batteries or 40 cents per battery
