looking for transfer house...

Post by Justin Lovell »

hey hey,

i am planning on doing my transfer at flying spot using their rank scanner (supposed to give fantastic results), however i am still a student and would love to find somewhere cheaper to get it done, but can still get the quality that my project needs.

here's what i'm looking for, and maybe someone out there can provide it...

1. i am shooting the super duper 8 format at 24fps (with some slo-mo at 36 and 54fps, can you support that in your transfer?

2. i am planning on shooting somewhere around 20-35 rolls of k40. how much do you charge students?

3. also, can you transfer negative stock (if i shoot on 5217 or 5218 -kodak 200t or 500t neg stock)?

4. can you transfer to digi-beta or just mini-dv?

5. do you have a colorist doing color correction with your transfer or just a straight one-light transfer?

thanks all!

I am a big fan of CinePost. Except for one transfer they did for me I have had nothing but great results from them.

Good Luck

Agreed. I am happy with their results too. Resonable pricing, the guys there are super nice, and they go out of their way for customer satification. (I dealt with Myron and Clifford last month)

Phil at http://www.all2digital.com / http://www.dtsav.com/ is supposed to do realllll good work and he's pretty cheap. He's on super8.net as well. His eMail is

All his transfers are done professionally on a wetgate system.
