WalMart regular 8mm processing?
Hi all,
Say, does WalMart process (via DWAYNES) regular 8mm cine chrome film? I am tempted to try it but thought I would ask anyway. I assume yes.
Cheers,
Michael

yes, anything kodachrome, or E6, of which I did 10 rolls of slide film. So I am wondering if they can also Outlab R8 VNF film.
I use Wal Mart for all my Kodachrome processing, both super 8mm and regular 8mm, I get it back in under 10 days always.

The Ins and Outs of Wal Mart Processing:
Step 1: Purchase movie film
Step 2: Load movie film
Step 3: Shoot movie film
Step 4: Unload movie film
Step 5: Take yourself and the film to your local Wal Mart
Step 6: Acquire the outlab envelope, its the same as the 1 hour envelope
Step 7: Fill in necessary address, phone number, city, blood type etc...
Step 8: In the "Special Instructions" area at the bottom of the envelope write this"KODACHROME MOVIE FILM K-14"(I write the code every time, eg: KMA 464 for Kodachrome Super 8mm, or KM 25 or KM 459 for Kodachrome 25 regular 8mm, or KMA 459 for Kodachrome 40 regular 8mm)
Step 9: Seal envelope
Step 10: Place envelope in the Fuji box
Steps 11-27: wait for the film to be finised, in the mean time buy more film!!!!
Step 28: Go back to Wal Mart
Step 29: Pay approximately $4.88 thats US, and then the tax is added.
Step 30: Project movie film
Step 29 1/2: Go home from Wal Mart
<To check status, there is a 1 800 number, it asked for the Wal Mart code-Account number, which is located above your Wal Mart address, then it asked for the envelope number. Thats above the Disclaimer>

Yes, super 8mm and regular 8mm color Kodachrome are both the same process, its just that regular 8mm is finished off differently. Thats it. You might even be able to send out 100' loads of Kodachrome, I dont know.

I have a regular 8mm roll of VNF film in a kodak 8mm camera of mine, its almost used up, I am going to finish it off tonite and take it to Wal Mart tomorrow to be sent out. So I will see what comes of that. The common Soper 8 and Reg 8 Ektachrome is VNF so if Wal Mart processes it, I am set!
They have developed 10 rolls of Elitechrome which is Ektachrome E6 process, Wal Mart had it ready in a week if I remember.
Cheers,
Jordan

I don't think so. I brought in a roll of tungsten (Which I believe is ekta, but I am not sure. I'm a video person and I am still learning all the nomenclature. Hopefullly, someone who knows will confirm or deny this.) and like a dope I write "process K-14" on the bag like I always do with the daylight film. 2 weeks later it came back "This cannot be processed K-14)
It should, ofcourse be processed VNF, as it clearly says on the can.
So, unless the guys at Dawynes thought that I was going for some kind of "art" effect and really wanted it "K-14" or they don't do VNF. I tend to think if they did VNF, they would realized I was a dope and just did what needed to be done. But I'm not certain.

Zevon forever!
Hey, I know a lot of people out there really like Wal-mart for getting their Super 8 processing, but please consider finding an alternative!!!
Wal-mart is an evil corporation, they put a lot of other people out of business.
When you drop off your film at Wal-mart, they send it out to Fuji for processing. What this means, is you can take your film to any store with Fujicolor processing mailers.
This includes Longs Drugs, and if you're in the Bay Area, Cala Foods and Bell Market.
In fact, Cala Foods is cheaper than Wal-mart, at 3.99 a roll while Longs costs 5.49.
So please people, don't support Wal-mart!!! Find an alternative! Just look for the fujicolor mailers.
