Look how beautiful all the film looks. I just had to shoot super8 for this upcoming wedding.. my wedding. :) and 2 rolls of 16mm for the h16 bolex we have.
Hopefully after i get the film and project edited i can share with everyone. Looking at transfering to BetaSP. Anyone have any experience in how good it looks transfered to BetaSP?? At new place im going to be working at they will have BetaSp equipment, but don't know what they capture on yet?? Anyone experienced 10-bit capture vs. 8-bit capture yet if they have a cinewave unit? going through a Rank Cintel production house for transfer to BetaSP. comments or suggestions on transfer is welcome. :) Thought i would share with my favorite film community, my happiness

oh yeah. look at all those nasty miniDV videotapes in the box :( But have to, to record the event, and sound.

Seems like you have to reactivate your site before we can see anything.

BetaSP is a good format... one step up is DigiBeta (quite a bit more expensive though), one down is DV which is much easier to work with (but i wouldnt trust it to play back flawlessly in, say 15 years). archiving might not be your biggest concern as you still have the s8 originals, which you can retransfer to HD at that time ;)

8bit captuer is actually good enough for most purposes, 10bit pays out if you plan to do heavy image manipulations (specially contrast) - more importat is that you digitize it on a system with little to none compression.

one useful and affordable workflow is: transfer to beta (or digibeta), make a DV dub with the same timecode, edit the DV material at home, go to a posthouse with good machines with your EDL and do an online in high quality from the original betas.

but most important, i hope you have a nice wedding ;)

Hi, so who will be doing the filming??? you must have some help with the filming, otherwise you wont appear in your own wedding. That box of goodies reminds me of my sisters wedding a few years ago, ten rolls of 16mm k25, 8 rolls of super 8 k40, 2 ektachrome 160 and 6 sony hi8 tapes and vid camera.. I found myself trying to do too much, if i had the day again, i would of got a pro to shoot the video, and me to shoot just one format, i tended to waiste too much time reloading the 16mm, but the confetti shot, backlit on 64fps on 16mm k25 was worth it. Have a wonderful day, enjoy it and make the most of it, as the day passes in no time.

"You may kiss the bride."

"PUT DOWN THE DAMN CAMERA!"

:D

Good luck, to whereever you think the luck may need to be applied.
You got praying hands...
They pray for no man...
