Its cool. It does really pixelated video with way more squarish pixelation video look. 8mm would have more of a grain look. Depth of field is amazing in pixelvision. Light response is pretty similar to film, needs a lot of light.
I wouldn't mind experimenting with one of these, but for the price I could buy a Bolex H8 or a nice Canon super 8 film camera. I will keep my eyes peeled for one at a flea market or garage sale though. Interesting.
The PXL2000 had a bit of a revival and cult following a few years back and their prices shot through the roof. I was never a real fan of them. I thought that the image looked like junk. However, they do have a "Look" all their own.
