Re-loadable Super 8 carts
Hi All
Hoping that someone can help.
Recently on ebay (Germany) I saw a re-loadable super 8 cartridge (15m/50ft) for auction. Foolishly I didn't put it in mywatch list and now that it is ended I can't find it again!
Do any of you know anything about the cartridges and if they are readily available?
I was thinking it may be possible to put the "pressure plate" into one of these and then if Paul Cotto is able to supply E6 reversal film at some time in the future process the film at home.

Re: Re-loadable Super 8 carts
Some seller is polishing the russian Kaccema and puts a new label on them. Suddenly people bid like 40-50 Euro for such a thing. While at times one can find them with a camera around it for Euro 5,-landsberger wrote:Recently on ebay (Germany) I saw a re-loadable super 8 cartridge (15m/50ft) for auction. Olex is selling them from the Oekraine. Check bankprocedure and fees before ordering! It is costly.
A pressure plate has no use on these as they have a metal plate themselves

Currently there is no pre-cut stock of S8. There is 60m supply of Fuji negative and Kahl has its own brand on 60m.
I cut my own BW S8 from FOMAPAN R100
Use search for Kaccema to find other discussions
Kind regards,
André

Olex costs:
The cartridges cost $10 per piece
Shipping is $15 for 10
Bank fee charge from olex $13
International bank cheque at sender side variable: $10 - $20
Import taxation: 30%
I think that is costly.
But with a large order things spread out more.
And you could order Svema refills

This place advertises as being able to process Fomapan:
http://www.blackandwhitefilmfactory.com/
They're in Canada. A U.S. lab I contacted said they will not process Fomapan because the higher temperature used to process the new Kodak b&w reversal films will melt the emulsion off Fomapan.

I ordered from Olexander about 18 months ago, and I recall that shipping from the Ukraine to Texas was $50 for a Quarz camera, several reloadable cartridges, and a Lomo spiral reel tank. Payment to Olex was conveniently made via John Schwind along with an extra $10 plus a 3 percent bank fee. Shipping time was about 14 days. It seemed very reasonable, all things considered, and Olexander is a nice guy.
hi, I had that problem as well.. just make sure you type the email address, as clicking will set the destination to a different address.. maybe an older email?..landsberger wrote:I just visited the website and sent two emails using the link on the site and both were returned as undeliverable.
Just type it in ;)

I noticed that Frank has a Kaccema scan of instructions on his site:http://www.super8.nl/refil.htm
The scans are nice authentic Russian and the text is Dutch. But the graphics are nice

Kahl Film in Germany sells brand new Kaccemas-like reloadable carts. It seems to be the someone in germany bought the original Ukrainian molds. Kahl sells S8 film in raw stock (200 ft) at 29 euros each.
The Kaccemas works very good due its metal pressure plate.
It will work better doing a good polishing to the metal plate.
Carlos.

These moulds seem like the holy grail. Either for Kodak or others. A lot of mystic around them.
Very much like the pressure plate

How on earth could people shoot a meter of film in the old days.
I would not polish a thing of a Kaccema plate. It is chrome-like plating on casted brass and before you know it you are through the plating and then what?

When I have ordered from him he didn't charge a bank fee (I sent him pounds sterling in cash) and there was no import charge.aj wrote:Olex costs:

And at worst, if I did get slapped with tax at this end it would be 17.5% not 30%.
I haven't bought from Olex since probably 2002 but back then he said I could pay in pounds, euros or US dollars...I offered pounds and there was no mention of any extra bank charges. I found it an easy transaction.
