I would like to know if any filmmakers would be interested in collaborating
on a film project. My thoughts are to combine a series of short (approx 10 minute) stories of myths or legends from where you reside, or the cultures you are from. I would like to collect 6 to 10 shorts for inclusion in the work.
I suggest the final output to be video (both pal and ntsc) filmed using S8. I have the technology (or at least most of it, Ill scrounge, rent or beg for what is missing), interest and commitment to assemble all work for final release. I will also send all collaborating filmmakers copies of the completed work as well.
My intention is to show schoolchildren the final work. It would seem to be a wonderfully personal way to reach out, entertain and express very individual viewpoints of our world.
Should there be royalties from the work we will split it evenly between all filmmakers. Of course many details need to be worked out but I dont see it being overly difficult.
There will be no editing of the included pieces. What you send will be exactly what is printed. Of course there must be no external royalty issues with the music or footage used. I anticipate all work to be rank transferred or of similar quality (ie Moviestuff workprinter), and the sound to be acceptably mixed. Also I'm sure we all want all included work to be as professional as possible. Please no home movies or bear in a cave shots.
I live Arizona and intend on filming a terrific Hopi legend of an orphan boy who finds out that the sun is his father and the moon his grandmother. It is full of surreal imagery unique to the Hopi reservations. All my actors will be Hopi as well.
