I need to transfer 150-200' super 8mm to BetaSP. The owner of the films, who resides in the bay area, would like to avoid shipping out of state. Is there anywhere in and around San Francisco that will do a broadcast quality transfer job for 10 minutes worth of footage? I tried a Pro8 and a couple other biggies, but they wouldn't transfer such a small amount without charging me an arm and a leg.

10 minutes should take about 30 minutes to transfer which is the minimum for most labs. maybe the arm and a leg price was the regular price for that ($150)? you can find cheaper, but not much cheaper. there's always roger, but he's not in california...

Hey Steve,

I live in San Francisco and I can tell you there is no place here where you can get a broadcast quality transfer of Super 8mm to BetaSP. You can get some low grade transfers. But that's about it. Why does it need to be broadcast quality?
