Schnieder 6-70mm Lens on 4008ZMII body

Post by Guest »

Yesterday I posted a question about using an Angenieux lens from a Beaulieu 2008 with a 4008ZMII body. I appreciate everyone's input, and I have another similar question that hopefully someone can answer. Some of you brought up issues of collimation when using a 2008 lens with a 4008ZMII body, and I'm wondering if this would also apply to using a Schneider 6-70 lens (from a 4008ZM4) with a 4008ZMII body. From what I understand, the only difference between the body of a 4008ZM4 and a 4008ZMII is that the ZM4 allows a slightly higher frame rate, so I'm wondering if these issues would apply to using a ZM4 lens with a ZMII body. Also, does the ZM4 operate on the same voltages as a ZMII...in other words, would there be any problems powering the zoom and auto aperture servos (and, for that matter, the whole auto aperture mechanism) when using a ZM4 lens with a ZMII body? I guess brings up a more general question of whether or not lenses from all 4008 series cameras are interchangeable without any problems.

Thanks!

To think of in this case, is that there is two types of Schneider 1,4/6-70 lenses for 4008ZM4. Latest ones had the W85 filter in the lens. The auto servo will work but needs a small adjustment to work together with the expometer in the camera, this is more or less the same adjustment as for the 2008 servo to 4008 camera. The adjustment on a new 4008 servo on a new camerabody is smaller, the voltages is exactly the same in all 4008 cameras. Still you shall check that the lens focus perfect on the new body, this is a professional work to adjust if needed.
