THE BEST NEWS IN YEARS

Post by alan doyle »

:D
HI YA FOLKS, I am working on a not so secret project, involving bulk loading 35mm film into super 8
kodak 5212.. vision 2( 100asa ) neg, vision2 (200asa)neg and v2 500asa neg. plus the best news is ektachrome 5285 this is similar to 35mm ekta 100vs stills film. this is nothing to do with kodak or not so pro 8...
once i have these stocks and shot with them, i will be scanning them on a cintel millenium telecine at 4k resolution..yes i no it is over the top in terms of resolution, but the fact is i can do it ,so why not!

I will have small amounts, of these stocks to give away, but i will need the
film to process and scan.. please respond on this page.
i need great locations, light and photography...action shots and time-lapse.. so if you think your real good s8 shooter, tell me what you would shoot on these beautiful stocks.. good luck..

Alan - I'm in a very scenic part of Australia (heaps of rainforest and beaches near where I live) - I can shoot any of that with my Beaulieu 4008ZMII if you want - it's also crystal synched at 25fps - if that's any use

tell me what you want to do!

Well, what is this exactly? Are you going to be starting your own business with this? God knows we need an alternative to Pro8.

i think i'm an pretty good super 8 shooter and i've won some acclaim for stuff i've shot in the past. i'd love to shoot a cart of something for you. stockholm for example? one of the most beautiful cities in the world. cityscapes? nightlife? skateboarding? would it be possible to get a copy of the 4k files afterwards?

I'm doing some music video work under low light and daylight conditions, and would be more than happy to do some testing for you.

Yes, I'm in.

Copenhagen is a beautiful place in the spring. Maybe a trip to the forest for the first day of the beech? Or going underground in our new Metro?

Experimental stuff for musicvideo...

Will you keep this footage or is the photographer allowed to use it?

Check my website for previous projects.

cheers,

Oh, I could really use that V2 500 on saturday 24th, where I'm filming a concert for a musicvideo (international recording artist playing at the annual festival for independent artists in denmark...details later)... Low light, live torches and dark costumes...

How about anamorph shots?

cheers

Where will these stocks be processed? Pro8 seems to be the only people
with the machinary to develop oddball S8 stocks.

this is hilarious. Months ago I posted something on this board about loading 35mm film into super 8 carts. I had contacted some people in vietnam who had done it and I asked for some opinions on this board and I got zero feedback. Whats the difference, do you guys play favorites. If this procedure works the only way to save money would be to do it out side the country, so what gives.

What's the difference?

Probably has to do with the Super-8 Secret Report we have on you. 8O

Actually, I don't remember your post but I wouldn't take it personally, this topic makes it sound like it's actually already happening and therefore that makes it easier to climb aboard and participate.

So... what gives? Do you have a perforating machine to reperforate 35mm wide film into useable strips of S-8mm? Are you paying Kodak for this service or someone else? Is this real or just some vapor-service that the mention of will do more harm to the S-8mm community than good? No details leaves me on the doubtful side that this is real. Please prove me wrong, but until there are cartridges available for sale, I won't be holding my breath.

If you do have access to a perforating machine, can it produce DS-8mm? Or S-8mm that can be loaded onto longer roll format such as a daylight loading 100 or 200ft spools?

Please provide some more info...

If would be great if I could have a copy of your 4K transfer!

I'm VERY VERY VERY interested in the 100D. I'm sure you're going to be swamped with requests, so maybe the ones closest to the top get the stock?
