variable rheostat speed control??

Post by cecilb.demented »

in the manual to a projector im looking at buying, it says:

projection speed: variable rheostat speed control

does this mean that the i can turn the knob little by little, increasing the speed little by little? which means that i can project at 18 fps and 24 fps by adjusting the knob a bit?

Welp, that's the way my old Keystone 8 works. The trick is, how to determine zackly where 18 & 24 is :)

It is good for transferring film, too. A very slow speed works, start slow and gently increase it till flicker goes away on the tv screen.

Well, rheostat is a device which permits the stepless (continuous) adjusting of the current to be passed through.
