Hey gang,
Bad news: Pro8mm does NOT offer E-6 processing, which is the proper chemistry for Provia 100, Provia 400, and Velvia. They did offer to manufacture the cartridges "including processing" which, if you have one of these carts, you'll see that it has "includes processing" stamped right on it. They offer to process it as reversal or cross-processed to a negative BUT, apparently that doesn't include E-6 processing!
After the experience of a prior cartridge owner reporting that the film was ruined in processing, I shot a roll of Provia 100 and returned it to them, specifying "E-6 Reversal". They sent it to another lab for EM-26 processing which is NOT E-6.
According to a Kodak representative, the EM-26 should look pretty good, it's not identical to E-6 but apparently it'll be reasonably close. I'll let you know the results when I get the cartridge back, estimated to be in a couple of weeks -- I've got my fingers crossed!
In the meantime, if you want to cross-process your cartridge as negative, go right ahead, the results should be fantastic -- very TV-commercial-like. If you want reversal, I'd recommend waiting to see what the results of my Provia 100 cartridge look like. I'll probably send the roll over to Roger for transfer and then we can extract a few stills and post 'em.

Why can't Pro 8mm process these? Can't they just change the chemical kit? And since I bought these as "processing included" I would not like to pay extra for the processing.

Okay, there's good news: there definitely is at least one lab in the US that WILL process Super8 in E-6 chemistry! I'm still working to see if we can arrange a deal between Pro8 and this lab... if they can, we will have the best of all worlds. I'll keep you posted!
