Hi,
does someone have a repair manual for the canon autozoom 518 SV? I'm tying to take apart mine but I'm only able to disassemble the top due to the fact that I don't know the exact disassembly method... Has anyone tried opening such a camera?

This was the first Super 8 Camera I purchased not too long ago and I was pretty excited.
When it got here however I found the lense had mould and also spider webs inside. I ended up using a very small screwdriver to open the lens housing but it seems even with screws it was glued on aswell. It took some time but I managed to get it all off and then clean the inside of the lens and put it all back together with some glue and screws.
The camera was cheap but I was more upset that I had been waiting to shoot Super 8 for so long. But yes I agree, the actual BODY of the camera looks like a tank and I am not sure if you even want to attempt this unless you don't mind throwing it away or using it for parts if you fail.
Mine just recently started making some unhealthy sounds when the trigger is held down. The battery meter says it is full but I might try change them and see how that goes. Sorry to hijack but if it's making these noises and the batteries are new is the camera on it's way out?
Also how many rolls of film do you usually get before the batteries need changing?

Did anyone find this out?
I have sound issue when I use the camera, get worse at higher speeds.
Think I will use it at 18 fps as long as it works. Like the camera and it is like new so would be nice if it was possible to open and clean.
