Just Received 310XL-S

Post by Brackish »

Purchased this through a private deal, wothout a manual.
Wondering about ASA settings. There's only one lever
for setting ASA. (Non-AF has two levers.) I notice that Ektachrome 160 will *not* depress
the lever but Ektachrome 125 *will*. Anyone with knowledge
or a manual to let me know how the lever position affects
exposure?
Also, there's a small, rubber-covered hole in front of
the film door, in the center of the right side of the
camera. What is this for?
Seems that, unlike the non-AF version of the 310XL, the
sound model has no backlight compensation lever. Suppose
this is because the AF model measures light through the lens. Wonder if having a TTL meter robs some of the light so that
the non-AF version is actually better in low light than the AF
version.

If you go to the following directory on this site: ftp://ftp.filmshooting.com/upload/manuals I believe there is a manual for the 310XLS there.
My needs are few but very expensive.
