Long story, need help!!

Post by guest »

I recently bought a sankyo camera and shot 2 reels of film on it, one right after the other, to test.
Film one came out well. Film two however has a glitch, what looks like a hair floating about. I don't think it's the projector as I've alternated the films, film one consistantly is clean, film two is not. However, I've looked closely at the lens and can't seem to see anything inside, certainly if it was way inside surely it would have been visible on Film one.??
I've also studied the second film and can't seem to see the mark on the film itself, although the image is so small it's hard to tell.
Has anyone got any suggestions for what is causing this, like i say, the lens looks clean and if it was further inside then surely it would have been a problem on both films?
Help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I'm new to 8mm so I could be wrong. Heres my guess.

Is the okay film the one you shot first? If so, you might have got some dust or dirt on the film gate between shooting the first film and the second. Try cleaning the gate with a brush / air blower.

thanks edwin, that's a good idea, i never thought of the gate, was more concerned with the lens. hopefully that's it, though i won't know for a good few weeks till i shoot and process another film! thanks for the suggestion.
