Hi everyone - This is my first time posting, as most of you can see. Am I glad I stumbled upon this! I have been looking for a forum like this for quite a while.
Anyway - I went to a local camera shop that sells 8-S8 equipment. The guy says that he has a Beaulieu 4008 5 (?). I am new to Super 8mm and was told that these were the best to buy. He wants $950 for it. Would I be better off getting something cheaper? Or is this a good price? I am looking to shoot a Trailer to show to potential investors, so I want a good look to it.
Thanks in advance -
Question about the Beaulieu 4008-5008
Moderator: Andreas Wideroe
In Addition...
Sorry - I also forgot to ask whether a crystal sync is needed for sync sound. If I plan on transferring all of my footage to Mini-Dv - will I need to get a crystal sync camera?
I plan on using a DAT recorder. Will it go out of sync quickly? Is there some sort of adaptor I can buy?
Thanks again -

$950 was a steep price! I would say more like $150-350 for a second hand nice condition camera.
Check http://www.ebay.com and search for Beaulieu!
