Nizo & Vision 200T

Post by Guest »

Hi,

I have a Nizo 6080 and I'm shooting 200T. How does the internal meter read this catridge? Is it best to expose manually or just deal with the overexposure? Also, what is the f-stop difference, percentage wise, between 160asa and 200asa (since the 6080 has a dial that corrects in 1/3 stop increments in the auto mode). Thanks for your advice.

Hi.

200 is (approx) 1/3 stop more sensitive than 160. (ASA's work like shutter speeds, a doubling of the number=one stop, eg. 25-50-100-200-400 are all one stop apart, 40 is 2/3 stop from 25, etc)

Neg film, with it's lattitude, would render 1/3 stop inconsequential, especially on the overexposure side, as this is your safety zone for neg films--in other words, you would have to overexpose these films quite a bit to lose quality, while underexposure would cause loss of info (in the shadows of the finished product) more quickly. So in my humble op, the 1/3 stop is just a little padding, and you shouldn't have to go to the trouble of correcting.

not sure about the code-notch issue, will probably make the nizo work at ASA 160, it's max. setting.

The Nizo 4056 and 4080 both have
a shutter angle of 220 degrees, as do the 6056 and 6080.
