profector woes

Post by 8 is enough »

hey there, i'm new to this game but can anyone tell me how to fix my projector to screen a still image. i think it may be the pressure plate or the registration pin but i've tinkered and its not getting any better.

its a dual format 8mm projector called a Victor which is a rebadged Hanimex i've been told. the film seems to be moving around in the gate a little more than it should. :? any help would be much appreciated

It might be that your film isn't looped. The film should enter (and leave) the pressure plate in a straight line with the pressure plate . For that you have to loop it. Should be in the manual or perhaps some lines are drawn on the pr for the film to follow.

maybe that's the problem.

automatic loading

cheers for the reply but i guess i should have added that it has automatic loading. i've been wondering whether joins can interfere with the synch of the registration pin. the join seems fine but at a certain point on the film the jumping frames starts happening and cannot be rectified.

anyone? anyone?

if the film is jumping around in the gate i'd guess it could be possible that the projector belt could be on the go? but i'm no expert, just a suggestion

Could it be a roll from a jittery cartridge?
Probablty not, cause you said the film jumps around.
