Elmo 1000S repair

The exposure needle in the view finder of my ELMO 1000S is not working. It does not respond under auto or manual exposure mode. The camera was droppped about 2 feet onto carpeting - not a hard fall. Does anyone have suggestions for fixing this problem? I've been given some expensive ($100 - $200) quesstimates from vendors in Michigan and New York. Any ideas?

To be fully honest I would not bother to fix it. I was told by Irv Higdon that the early Elmos camera using that type of meter are toast once they die. You could buy another for less than $100.
