Is anyone here using a flash to 1kHz tone converter (made by Pedro) to do sync sound? I would like to know how well they work, and if he is still making them.

Flash to 1kHz Tone Converter

I am making three different models, but as I am alone and have no productio plant, you should be a little bit patient with me.
The R1008AV records 1000 Hz pulses to a continously running AV tape and connects directly to a separate head for AV synchronization.
The R1008AVS does almost the same, but additionally it can start/stop the tape recorder by remote. The tape will only run when you push the trigger of the camera. In delay mode, the tape will start together with the camera and stop only 20 seconds after releasing the shutter, capturing sound inbetween the scenes. Remote is only possible when supported by the tape recorder.
The R1008MD records 1000 Hz pulses to any stereo audio recorder, f.e. a MD or DVD. However, the captured audio will be recorded only in MONO quality to the right chanel. The left chanel is used by the device to record the sync signal. The R1008MD connects to the mic input of the audio recorder and allows an accurate gain adjustment of the sync signal. This way, the general gain adjustment of the audio recorder can be done according to the microfone level and the sync level can easyly be adjusted afterwards separatly. The microfone plugs into the R1008MD directly.

All devices are working 100% and are proffessionaly designed with modern C-MOS components. The camera is electrically separated from the electronics, using an opto coupler. They are build up on printed boards and use standard plastic boxes.
