I have developed old Moviechrome and Revuechrome films to black and white negative. After that I transfered them with Workprinter and inverted them straight with video camera to positive. They are not perfect, but I was very happy to see, that it works.

Do you think you can do the same with Kodachrome II?attenka wrote:I have developed old Moviechrome and Revuechrome films to black and white negative. I understand the "develop a negative" part. And I understand using the Work Printer to transfer. But how did you go from a negative to a positive?
Are you working on a Mac or a PC? What program did you use to do this?
I have some old K-II my family shot when i was a kid. I was going to send it to Rockey Mountain (in the USA) to be developed into a B&W negative. But if I could use my Workprinter to transfer to my computer, then do the transfer from negative to positive, i would rather do it myself.
How did you do it?

there are some ppl who processed kodachrome II (or k40) as b/w neg, however, i seem to remember that there are a few prolems.. from what i've heard:jhoneycutt wrote:Do you think you can do the same with Kodachrome II?
- there is a speed loss, which means you should uverexpose the film
- you'll have o remove the anti-halo backing (also called rem-jet) which is quite a mess
- it will look rather muddy
nearl every decent editing system should be able to do this really... the command should be something like "invert"I understand the "develop a negative" part. And I understand using the Work Printer to transfer. But how did you go from a negative to a positive?

in Final Cut Pro for example, you go to video filters -> channel -> invert
if yours cant, i'm sure there is a sharewareprog that will do it.

OK. Cool. I think i will have Rockey Mountain recover my K-II, then just mail me the negative and i will take it from there.christoph wrote:there are some ppl who processed kodachrome II (or k40) as b/w neg, however, i seem to remember that there are a few prolems.. from what i've heard:jhoneycutt wrote:Do you think you can do the same with Kodachrome II?

You can do the reversion directly in your camera using the "negative" effect.jhoneycutt wrote:

I use pc with wp but you can do it as well with mac. The capture program is Jeff Dodson's "Dodcap" done right for that purpose.

My WorkPrinter jr. arrived 2 days ago (Thanks Roger!!! I am too excited for words!) and i will be buying Jeff's program as soon as I get over the flu and can think (maybe a day or two). Glad to know Jeff's program will do this.attenka wrote:You can do the reversion directly in your camera using the "negative" effect.jhoneycutt wrote:
