Canon Projector

Post by Jordan »

Has anyone heard of a Canon P400 S8 projector? I phoned the local shop and they have on in (I've been searching for a while). I tried to look it up on the net to get some info on it, but can't find anything. Does anyone know about this model? Good/Bad? (It's selling for $150 canadian, about $115 american)

Thanks for the help!

It was probably one of Canons standard range. Divide the price by at least 5 to get a reasonable current value for a typical projector of that era.

yes I have the p400 (takes 400ft reels) and its smaller bro' (takes 200ft reels)

nice lens, nice focussing and zoom

horrible retractable power cord on the 200 model

takes those 'spacehelmet' lamps 50w

if you use it for telecine has a nice feature where 8mm and Super 8 are projected same size

both have tendency to jump to rewind if a bad splice is on the film - not good

oh yes both sound like a coffee grinder instead of the more familiar sewing machine %^)
