He guys
i'm new here...and i have a very basic question that i guess you all know the anser...
i'm in a film class in high school in israel. and i don't want my next project to be shot with dv but with real film. so i'm willing to buy a super8 camera and an editor for it. now here's the question, do i have to own some expensive equipment so i can transfer my film back to video, or is there an easier and chiper ways of doing it.
thanks very much,
Mattan, Israel.

The cheap and cheerful solution is the camcorder next to the projector and videoing off a screen.
Just make sure the camcorder has a 1/50 shutter speed, automatically or manually and this virtually eliminates flicker.
Connect the camcorder directly to the computer. You will need a board in the conputer that can take the siganal. Firewire for a modern digital, I use an ATI All in Wonder Pro 128 for S-VHS from my Hi-8 camcorder.
The results are probably not going to win any prizes, but it is fun and the results are watcheable on a full screen. As good as to VHS.

All the best.
