K-40 Processing Success

Post by nermanflapkit »

I just received my first roll of K-40 back from Switzerland via Kodak's New Jersey office. Overall, I am very pleased with the turnaround time---less than 3 weeks-- and price -- $10.83 film & processing.

For any fellow S8 newbies hesitant about shipping film overseas for processing, be assured that the process worked well.

Great to hear its all good overseas too. I'm anxiously awaiting the return of many rolls from franklin lab(trix-plusx) and dwaynes (k40) of random things shot over the past few months.

That price is intriguing......

New projector works great, so cant wait to see all this stuff.

Here's the skinny on that price:

$10.83 for film and mailer package with the student discount. Standard price is 13.54 Fax # for the east coast it is 1-800-755-1816 wait 10 minutes then call 1-800-621-3456 with your order. They will have to get your fax off the machine and process it with your order. which makes me think you will have to fax it in everytime.

Kodak New Jersey

Jess-

For K-40 processing with Kodak mailer:

Kodak Premium Processing
16-31 Route 208
Fair Lawn, NJ 07410

My understanding is that Kodak NJ sends K-40 to Switzerland for processing, then back to you via NJ. Despite the round-a-bout logistics, my first try worked well as mentioned in my earlier post. Hope you have good luck also.

Someone also posted a while back that Kodak Canada might be a good option as well. I don't have any experience with this route, but search the posts and you'll come across it.

I have an old cart of K40. Is it possible to sent 2 carts in one mailer, or can I just sent the old cart in a regular envelope?
Thanks,

Simon.

The mailers are pretty tight allowing only one cart/per mailer. also the mailers are folded inside the boxes of film. I originally thought they forgot to include the mailers with the film when I got my order. I am yet awaiting my first roll. It's been over 3 weeks but I mailed it to the canada address. that may be why I haven't recieved it yet. will keep you posted. At 10.83 filming the family for archiving reasons is practical now.

BTW: off topic question:

Since some of you are from England how does the history books portray George Washington? As you know he's a hero in America. I have a bet with a friend that the English history books do not portray GW as a traitor, he says the books should since all colonials were and as the signatures of the Dec of Independence were hunted and slain as traitors. American History labels Benedict Arnold as a traitor so why wouldn't English books label GW the same. What did some of you learn in grade school about GW. Any comments?
