Masked and Anonymous
Masked and Anonymous is a new film starring music legend Bob Dylan. I saw it tonight (me and three other people in the entire theater)
. I wont even go into the particulars of the movie itself except to say that if you are a Dylan fan you will probably like it if not I don't know. In this film there are a few (color) scenes where Dylan's character Jack Fate remembers parts of his childhood. His memories transpire on screen in what appears to be Regular 8 (maybe Super8) film - grain and all. It is obvious that the idea was to create the imagery of old home movies. Parts of these scenes that were shown canvased the entire big screen while other parts were reduced to about normal 8mm size flanked by a black background. I thought that considering this was the director's desired effect that it turned out exceptionally well. Just thought I would pass it on. Has anyone else viewed this movie yet?
