What to do with my recelled Beaulieu 4008 battery?
I just got back a recelled Beaulieu 4008 battery. I realize that I should probably charge it up completely before using it, but how long should that be? 24 hours, 48 hours, more? Also, after fully charging, should I discharge it completely to empty before charging again? Thanks, gents!

Beaulieu battery charge
The Beaulieu manual suggest a 24 hours charge for a battery not used for a few months, followed by a empty running of 10 minutes. I usualy run my camera for a few minutes at 18 fps. It should do the trick but I would not recommend running the camera empty for too long. I lost one battery this way one time but maybe it was a matter of time since the battery was old.

If it was recelled with Nickel Metal Hydride batteries instead of nicads then it does not need to be fully discharged before recharging and you can even top off the charge whenever you want with no worries. The charge time depends on the capacity of the battery and the power put out by the charger, your best bet is probably to ask the people who recelled it.
