Nizo Repair?

Post by S8 Booster »

It appears that Super8sound / PRO8MM used to repair the Nizos. Since they are re-making/modifying Beaulieus they are certainly in a position to repair the Nizos too.

Might be an idea to ask them still?

In regards to the question about Nizo accessories, any of the 67mm wide angle converters can be used on the Nizos-- Canon, Eumig, etc. The battery packs are filled with nothing but Ni-Cads, these can be removed and recharged in any recharger. Just note which way they went into the original pack. There are 6 of them. Try out some DIN plug converter cables-- Calrad makes a few-- to see which will work with any stock earphone or headphone. The matte box may be harder to find, especially the really neat proprietary one. Try Halmar in Canada for a generic one, or maybe The Widescreen Centre in London can put you in touch of a Nizo specialist. Super 8 Sound in Burbank used to support Nizo but no longer.
Found this list for repair facilities too: http://www.ifckc.com/how_to/super8_repa ... c501177025

Retired?

Post by Andreas Wideroe »

I got this email tonight from Brenda:
ANDREAS---I recieved the email below (June 25, 2002) in reply to my question about Kurt Schacherl:

---

"Hello,

As far as I know, Kurt Schacherl has retired.

I have very good contact to another repair shop, authorized for NIZO /
BAUER cameras and projectors. It is near my location (Ruhrgebiet) and
they do really excellent work. Unfortunately the owner wants to retire
at the end of this year.

Best Wishes

Heinz-Juergen Schachner
