100th WorkPrinter sold!

I am proud to announce that I just received my 100th order this evening. I am quite surprised at the success of these units, not in terms of how well they work, but by the tremendous response I've had since the beginning of the year.

I'd like to thank Andreas for his support by letting me put an ad on his site (I'm still waiting for your review!). Quite a few customers have noted this site was where they found my link.

In all, I'm heartend by the positive feedback I've received. It's always a hoot to see a good transfer posted, especially when they come from overseas. I've shipped these units to over half a dozen countries; more places than I'll ever visit the rest of my life. Anyway, I look forward to the next hundred.

Maybe the Smithsonian would want one? ;)

Actually, the real reason why I was searching the archives was that i was looking for a post of yours about an idea you had for a very interesting telecine device. If I recall, I don't think anything physical was built at that stage - it was just a concept but a very clever design. I don't remember all the details but I believe film was transported past a high resolution black & white video camera and there were three filters involved - each of a primary colour. Reminds me a little of the technicolour process. Though with your device, I believe each primary colour could be increased or decreased somehow for colour correction.

That's a very vague recollection but i was wondering if you are able to explain the process again, and also have you managed to start developing the idea into something physical?

Yeah, we've gone waaaaaayyy past 100 units. I think we have passed the 2000 unit mark but, honestly, we've just been so damned busy building and shipping units and doing R&D on our new HD units that I haven't had time to do an accurate count. But I'm fairly certain we have passed 2000 units. Crazy.

When I read this originally I thought damn, 100 units per day, that's quite a production line. Then I saw the date. Still, congratulations on an excellent product and even better after-service.
