Sound cameras that run at 18fps only

Do you know what is a mystery to me that I would like to solve? Super 8 sound cameras that will run only at 18 fps. I have one myself which I bought as a package with a sound projector about two years ago. As everydody knows, optimal sound quality is acheived at 24 fps. So why on earth have camera manufactureres designed sound cameras that will not give their users the best sound quality? And strangely, its not just a few examples of this but I have heard of heaps of these cameras that were made and distributed. I even know of a few top of the line elaborate Chinon sound cameras that have every conceivable feature you could think of for making professional looking films and yet do not have 24 fps running speeds!

That it. It´s really not understandable. So unfortuantly are most of Canons, inspite of their excellent lenses, Elmos etc.
Sound & Silent models with always have 24 fps are Nizo, Bauer, Beaulieu, Bell&Howell etc.
