Where can I get a good quality Telecine of my Super 8 done in PAL, cheap. I have contacted Moviestuff but he does not currently offer a PAL service.
I only want to get about 2 or 3 rolls done at a time. I noticed in an earlier post Static 8 said “I try to get the films transferred with Roger's Work Printer 3 that was delivered up here in Finland.” does this mean that a PAL Telecine service will be offered in Finland soon?
I live in the UK but can send my film to anywhere. Any ideas?
I have had some 16mm transferred at a local TV studio that cost me £120 ($183) per hour to hire with operator, but I can’t afford to pay for a full hour for 3 rolls of S8.

Check out http://www.widescreen-centre.co.ukWidescreen Centre. They offer a telecine service to PAL VHS, as well as DVD. Prices are pretty good too!
A few years ago Which (UK Consumer Magazine) did a survey of 'telecine' services offered by photographic dealers. They found the results no better, and often worse than their own efforts with a camcorder. The reason being this is the technique generally used, and is adequate for domestic VHS use.
It is probably a good idea to check with anyone offering this service on how they do it. the Widescreen Centre should be OK. They have been on the go for years and should be doing a good job. As for the rest, caveat emptor ( let the buyer beware)
