Bolex H case/bag
Hello, I have a Bolex H8 Rex 4 and I would have liked to have an original Bolex bag or case, so I bought an H-1 version of Bolex bags, convinced that it was good for the whole series H : http://www.bolexcollector.com/accessories/case50.html
Unfortunately it is not suitable for my Rex 4, it does not come in because the camera have the base, instead this model of case is made for the old H series without the base.
Do you know the right bag models for a Rex 4?
Thank you.

H8 rex4 with preset Switar lenses. Fits correctly.

Re: Bolex H case/bag
I found that there are little differences between H-1 and H-1 A.
The first one has a piece that is placed horizontally, which doesn't allow the base of the Rex4 to be inserted. Instead in the H-1 4, that piece is vertical, and the Rex4 enters comfortably.
studiocarter2, a note: in your case is present the piece that I circled in green? Thank you!

Identical, and is the same case my H16 Rex 4 has, also. Both are the same.

Even the H16 enters in case with the lenses? What lenses you have on H16?

25mm Som Berthiot Rex, 10mm Rex, 16mm, or a 50mm. Only 2 are Rex.

Thank you.
I imagine that even a zoom can enter comfortably.
In addition to the basic Macro Switar, I also have a Pan Cinor 40 RX zoom.

@studiocarter2: have you Rexofader on your H8 and/or on H16 that you have in your case? If yes, with Rexofader they fit well?

Re: Bolex H case/bag
Interesting question. Never tried it. So, I did, and yes it fit. But not without retracting the diopter tube first. Now I have to focus it again. While I was at it, the H8 Rex 4 fit into the H16rex4 case, and so did a H16 T that has a round base with the flat cast aluminum foot attached! That is a nice accessory to have. Do you think the 75mm black lens would fit?

Re: Bolex H case/bag
I have to try how it goes with the Pan Cinor, but on a 75mm I don't know... Maybe too much big?
Instead, I noticed that the Rexofader, limit the closure (need to push on case a little for close), in fact it's precisely that piece circled green in the picture above that "press too much" on the point of camera where the Rexofader is.
Even with the withdrawn diopter tube retracting.
I noticed from some pictures on the web, that on some H-1 A case that piece is removed, I think just to not stress the Rexofader a lot.
Did you notice this "pressure" of that piece?

The block missed the fader. The lid shut well.
What kind of films do you make with your H8Rex?

Ah, I knew you had the Rexofader, sorry!
With my Bolex I shot, in general, experimental shorts, without human actors. I don't like shooting subject themes.
