Film Workshops

Post by Pj »

I have been running film workshops for almost 20 years, but I feel that now there is a greater need for film training. I have had colleges, universities and many students expressing a desire to work with film, but most educational establishments can't or don't offer any analogue film training. I have set up the Analogue Film Academy to run a range of professional workshops taught by experienced tutors and DoP's across the UK so that people can easily learn about working with film, whether it’s Super 8, 16mm or 35mm film.

It has taken months to put everything together and good news is that Kodak are supporting the initiative. The new website http://www.analoguefilmacademy.co.uk is not completely finished.

Very cool, Pav! I wish you and the academy a long success. I hope you can generate in your students a sense of fun working with film can be.

That's great Pav! I'm in NYC and have done a few workshops with MONO NO AWARE here and really enjoyed them. He does 16mm and Super 8 workshops. You could try and connect with Steve Cossman who runs it and get some thoughts/advice/etc. haha. But good on you for keeping film alive. These workshops peaked my interest and I've since become obsessed.
