"Dailymotion" player ROCKS!

I occasionally search Google to see where my Jonny Quest animation project pops up. It was originally on Vimeo but I just stumbled across it on Dailymotion and my jaw is on the floor. Mind you, this is the same video that was uploaded to Vimeo and someone just copied it to Dailymotion. And while the Vimeo looked okay, it always had noticeable artifacting and latency on almost every shot. But the Dailymotion player is so freakin' crisp, this looks almost exactly like it does on my PC in my studio. Just goes to show how much of a difference the player makes. I used to think that Vimeo was the preferred choice but I think I might switch to Dailymotion for all my video posts. Really nice and plays smoooooooth.

I'd have to say that's the best quality video i've seen streamed on the internet. Did you have to pay anything for that quality? I signed up for a free account but couldn't find anything about fees or file size limits. Too bad i just payed Vimeo for a 1 yr Plus account just the other day.

I'm getting ready for a trade show in Vegas this week for the new Universal so I don't have time right now to do any investigation about the Dailymotion account but, I will tell you this, that file never looked so good on Vimeo and it's the same damned file! I mean, literally, someone downloaded the file from Vimeo and uploaded it to Dailymotion. It doesn't really even look that good when I play it in QT, honestly. I never thought the player would make such a huge difference. Anyway, I'll try to find out more.

That is true. However, the odd thing is that the Vimeo version of this very same video always showed some kind of artifacts, even though each frame was shot on a DSLR, while the Dailymotion version of the same video is clean. So I have to believe that the Dailymotion player will still be an improvement over the Vimeo player, even with the presence of grain but we'll see. I'll run some tests when I get back from Vegas.

It is just a video off a digital tape camcorder so is not HD. Compared with YouTube It certainly looks better. I too think I will try uploading some more here to compare with other systems.

Yeah that's almost 3 times of what you can upload to a free Vimeo account at once. And I think Vimeo is still working on their 4K option.
