Lube focusring Bolex d-mount lenses

Post by freddenacka »

Halo
I now start to get a good collection of Bolex cameras and lenses. The main problem is often that focusing is stuck. I get it to move again but one of the 36mm Yvar lenses are still not soothe.
Is it possible do disable the screws and ring to lube it?
I tried some fine oil without open it and it is a bit better but not good.
Don´t want to open it until i knew it is in some way possible.
The lens is a Yvar 36mm f/2.8 Visifocus with glasses i very good condition.

before you open it up try warming it with a hair dryer. That can loosen the old grease and allow you to turn the focus. Keep turning the focus and re-heating until it moves fairly free without heat. Often this works. If you take it apart you may do something that will not allow it to focus properly when you get it back together.
