I just bought a Minolta Xl 400 and was hoping to use the Kodak Vision 3 200t film. But the manual says it takes tungsten rating film ASA 40 or 160.
How do you think you the film will turn out if i use it?
I'm very new to all this so any replies appreciated.

Hi johnny
It will be absolutely fine in your camera. The difference between 160 and 200 is just one third of a stop which is nothing for colour neg. Many people rate it at 100 deliberately to make a darker.negative.
Enjoy!

Re: Will this film work?
Thanks alot Richard.
There was this other thing also that ive heard not using the 'bulb' switch since the film is already tungsten balanced or something like that. It might have been the other way around.
Would appreciate if someone could take their time and expend a little bit on that.
/Johnny.

Re: Will this film work?
The internal filter in a super 8 camera is orange (85) to warm up daylight to be like tungsten light (of course in colour temperature terms daylight is a higher temperature than tungsten, also filtering itself doesn't change the frequency of light it just subtracts some frequencies...). So with 200t if shooting under tungsten coloured lights you don't need the filter but under daylight you do. The ' bulb ' position of the filter switch means ' no filter ' so have the switch in 'bulb'.
It's that easy.
