35mm movie? Buwah ha ha ha ha! That is funny, it's a Super 8. I find some of these eBay sellers real funny sometimes. Like when one offers an 8mm projector saying: I opened the case and it looks fine. It has a bulb and a reel of film but not knowing much about these things I can only sell it "as is". Well duh! It has a cord dummy, plug it in and run it. It's not that hard to thread the film and see if it works. It galls me when these sellers do not take the time to check out the items they sell. They think by offering it as an "AS IS" item releases them from any liability if the item works or not. As Bugs Bunny would say: What a couple of maroons!
But NOTHING beats this:wahiba wrote:Some poor blighter is currently offering an enlarger, worth about £10 as a movie projector at £99 !!!! all because of the little label.

Those goofy Kodak XL cameras weren't very feature oriented but, man, could they shoot under doodly-squat light. I used one back in 77 to shoot a wedding that was candle lit using the now defunct E160 tungsten and it looked just great. Unbelievable low light capability. They had at least a 220 shutter (possibly wider, I think) and something like an f1.1 lens or something ridiculous. No TTL viewing but you really didn't need it and the lack of beam splitter only helped the low light ability, which is what they were really built for. I wouldn't give a dime for one now, though. Common as flies.

You have to love eBay. I got a wonderful Minette S-5 super-8 viewer off eBay for $10. Yes, for $10. The thing is in mint condition -- all metal, built like a tank, easy on film, the brightest viewer I've ever seen. I never bid against anyone because the seller accidentally spelled it "Mimette" and sold it in a collectibles area which had nothing to do with cameras. Come to think of it, I have no idea how I found it in the first place. Kismet!
