Hi
Who has used these guys? http://willardengineering.com/
Are they worth their salt?
It's been a while since posting. My life has taken away from shooting except for one very good client that I will always pick up the phone for. But, I do have a hankering to shoot some S8 here and need to get some life back in the Beaulieu 4008ZMII.
Good Luck

Thanks TScan
It sounds like maybe I should pass on Willard.
Unless someone else has some good things to say. Anyone?
Good Luck
PS--Death and I were talking about you a couple weeks back. Hope you're doing well.

Re: Willard Engineering
Seems like Bjorn Andersson in Sweden is one of the best bets these days. Didn´t you get it going there?
Do you know this guy? http://www.super16inc.com/page5.html
Sems to do proper jobs on 4008s.

I can tell you from experience that Bjorn Andersson is the best Beaulieu tech around, plus he has tons of parts that he bought up from Beaulieu. Absolutely worth sending a 4008 to him, even for routine maintenance.S8 Booster wrote:Seems like Bjorn Andersson in Sweden is one of the best bets these days. Didn´t you get it going there?

Bernie at Super 16 Inc. is also amazing. I'd recommend him for 16mm cameras like Scoopics, Eclair ACL (he was THE guy for these for many years), Aaton & Arri. His Laserbrighten procedure will make those Russian 16mm cameras twice as bright in the viewfinder. Like the name says, he can make any camera Super 16 or Ultra-16 and he'll tell you straight up if it is worth doing.

Re: Willard Engineering
Super16 does Beaulieu and its lenses too. It is 70-ies camera technology and not rocket science.S8 Booster wrote:Seems like Bjorn Andersson in Sweden is one of the best bets these days. Didn´t you get it going there?

Considering the shipping it may very well prove that at these costs alone the job can be done completely in Maine.
It would be interesting if this laserbrightening could work on the 4008 groundglass too.
Or will it require a full disassembly of the glass from the holder?
Kind regards,
André

Re: Willard Engineering
I've spoke with Bjorn and I am sure he does great work. The issue I have is not with him per se but rather the cost involved to ship the camera to and from Europe.
Thanks for the input.
