Hello,
The projector deosn't take up the film. As I looked inside, around the gate where there are the claws going in and out of the film perforations, it seems that those claws are not long enough, or that they are too inside the holes in the gate. Sorry for the bad explanation, I hope someone see what I mean. Any way to set up/ repair this ?
Thanks in advance,
Krystof.

Krystof,
I assume you mean that the projector will not thread the film past the gate because the "Claw" is not entering the film.
First, the claw on this machine is very fine indeed... it looks like a needle mounted in a small brass bush. Sometimes the claw is missing because it has been broken off when changing gate assemblies between Standard and Super 8. The brass bush is then mistaken for the claw.
If the caw is intact, then the usual cause of it not penetrating the film properly is that the Shutter has come loose on its shaft and has slid backwards away from the gate. Check carefully if it is loose (this is very rare). If so, slide it forward gently in small steps until the claw penetrates the film sufficiently (but not enough that the brass bush touches the film or the claw does not come back out for its "Up-stroke") and tighten the shutter on the shaft with the two screws.
BUT, DO NOT attempt this unless you are competent to do so. Once the claw is broken, the projector is scrap!!
Note: Dual gauge Eumigs have ONE claw, single gauge ones have TWO.

Hi,
AFAIK the 610D is a projector than can project both "8mm Type S" and "8mm Type R" ("8mm Type S" =Super8/Single8/..., "8mm Type R"=Regular8/Standard8/Normal8/...). Hence I guess that you've simply chosen the wrong format. Or that you haven't "finished" selecting the correct format (as on some of these projectors for both formats you don't only have to press a button when changing the format, but also manually replace gears, gates, ... ).
"Type S" has got the smaller perforation holes that are placed in the single image's centre (vertically
) while "Type R" has got larger perforation holes that are located at the frame separator (the unused space between two images).

This space was left intenionally blank.

Hello,
Thank you for the fast answers.
Jorg, the format was correctly set up on super/single and I project super 8, so the problem shouldn't come from there. Thanks for the reminder anyway.
Granfer, the claws are indeed there. I don't know what happened, but they're set up correctly now, pointing out of the gate mechanism. I tried to project a film and eveything worked fine. Now, how did I get there : I dismantled some things around the gate to see how it works and mounted them back, but this didn't lead to any conclusion. Same thing on the other side (the motor side), I dismantled some components and put them back, and tried to push the ''claw'' mechanism to the gate side, hoping it would do something. It seems to have worked somehow, and now it is back to its former position. However, this may indicate that the shutter can move freely and that's a bad sign. I feel that I will have to tighten the screw as you say. But looking at it, it seems that there are many components to dismantle in order to get to this screw, I don't really see where it is...

If it is now working properly, leave it alone! I see that you have a 610D, which has a complex mechanism, difficult to work on and unlike the vast majority of Eumig machines. I do not have an example of this machine, so cannot give you detailed guidance or photographs to work by. From memory, the principle is the same but access is difficult. Cross your fingers that it was just what we call "finger trouble"!

Haha, I won't touch it then.
thanks for the help.
