I'm a film student at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and I'm getting ready to put on a performance with live 16mm projections. For the piece I would ideally like to place the projector about 8-10 feet away from an 8x8 foot screen. I know this is an extremely short throw for 16mm, but I'm wondering if there are any projector/lens combinations or DIY solutions that would satisfy my constraints.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Need advice for ultra short throw 16mm projection
Use the shortest focal length lens you have as a starting point. If you still need the projector closer to fill the screen (I presume you mean an 8ft x 6ft screen), try adding a "wide angle adapter" made for a video camera. A X 0.7 will increase your height and width by 50%, a X 0,5 by 100%.

Re: Need advice for ultra short throw 16mm projection
Thanks for your help! I'm happy to hear that it's possible. When adding a wide angle adapter to the lens of a 16mm projector, are there any types of lenses that will be compatible "out of the box" or adapters? Or am I going to have to come up with my own rigging to make it work?
