Som-Berth 17-85mm question

Post by mr_x »

Hi,

Just checking out this H16 lens. The viewer has specks of dust but it's crystal clear (bright) but I noticed when connected to the main lens (below) there was a faint haze, especially when the lens was pointing at bright light sources. Then I photoed down the lens and noticed tiny dots.

Then I enlarged part of the lower image and saw an effect like water or condensation.

Any idea what's causing this please? Is it fungus (no filaments visible), is it anything to worry about - lens is pretty good otherwise ... can the lens be cleaned, what do you think please?

Thanks,

Ric

Yes, it looks like either water condensation or oil droplets. It can usually be cleaned.

Thanks Jean-Louis,

That is good news! Otherwise the lens is fine.
