A question on the Bolex crystal sync unit.

Post by hirudin »

hi!

i checked the forum but couldn't find any information on this issue... nor can I find a manual. I have a bolex crystal sync unit... one of the green metal boxes for 24fps/60Hz. On top it has two ports: on mine both are 7pin connections. Which one is for the motor cable, and do I need to plug in a battery to the other? How do i know if it's working correctly?

Thanks on any information.

Either 7-pin socket is used to connect the Crystal Control Unit to the camera through the 7-pin socket on the base of the PONAL battery grip (used in conjunction with the ESM motor). The remaining 7-pin socket is used to connect the optional Sync Pulse Generator. I don't know how you would verify the proper operation of the Crystal Control Unit short of putting it to use with a sound recording device similarly equipped.
