This eBay item is for 17.5mm mag film spacer. What is this used for?
I collect various film gauges for the Cine Museum that I operate in Seguin, Texas. I need a clip of 17.5mm Pathescope as an example of the gauge. (I have 28mm and 9.5mm by Pathe).
If anyone has a strip of at least 8 inches long...it can be leader (although frames of images are preferred)...I would like to have it for the museum. I don't need a full reel of film.

Re: 17.5mm film spacer
17.5mm is a format used for laying audio tracks for a 35mm film. It isn't a picture format, but rather a sprocketed magnetic tape format for laying audio to 35mm pictures. It is used instead of using 35mm magnetic audio tracks which are much wider than they need to be and are wasteful of magnetic tape. The perforations are the same as 35mm. This spacer roll is just a roll of leader. Naturally enough, when laying the audio tracks, you might need some black sections, or literally leader and tail for the rolls. This is not something I have ever been involved with doing by the way.
