Hi there, I have noticed on my super 8 films that they have perforations, but the film actually is driven by the claw is it not? are the perforations even necessary or are they just a by-product of being cut from some other guage ?
I ask because I have 1000 feet of microfilm in 16mm that I would like to try to cut down and reload into super 8 reloadables, but of course microfilm is not perforated, and probably no chance of me being able to perforate it, but again if the camera just runs off turning the claw mechanism to the gears in the cart I dont see why they perforations would matter
thanks!

Re: reloading super 8 carts
The film is not moved on by the CARTRIDGE! The CLAWS fit into the PERFORATIONS and move the film on one perforation at a time.

Re: reloading super 8 carts
makes sense now,
unfortunate
I was really looking for a use for this 1000 feet of 16mm microfilm
any ideas how I could put it to use ?

Contact Edward Nowill in UK. He perforates film. He may be able to help you for a price of course.--John S.
